Meet Kolongi
Kolongi Brathwaite, born in Bridgetown Barbados, is a self-taught visual artist who came to America with a single purpose of establishing himself as an international artist.
From a young child, Kolongi has only had one desire, and that was to create magnificent masterpieces to be loved by many around the world.
Gifted in both realism and abstract, Kolongi's work emphasizes the story of Africa and her people globally.
Children have become adults adoring his most famous works. Some of his most notable pieces are, Hip Hop Culture, which has been featured in numerous magazines such as the Vibe and Source Magazine. Also "Who Shot The Sheriff" featuring Tupac Shakur and Bob Marley, which is currently showcased within Bob Marley museum in Jamaica. And most currently, Freedom Riders, which features United States first African American President and First Lady, Barack and Michelle Obama.
Kolongi uses oils on canvas to convey his messages. He believes in contributing to the education of people around the world about the greatness of African Culture.
